Edit with VisualEditor

Dr Mike Dickison (User:Giantflightlessbirds, contact: mike@rove.wiki) is working as a part-time Wikipedian in Residence from late September 2026 to late March 2027 with Te Pūnaha Matatini (TPM) a New Zealand Centre of Research Excellence studying complex systems. He will upload images to Commons, improve Wikidata on researchers and publications, cite published research to improve relevant Wikipedia articles, and create new articles as needed.

Goals

[edit]
  1. Reconcile the list of principal investigators against Wikidata and create items for people as needed: see TPM people below.
  2. Import a Zotero archive of TPM publications and reconcile with Wikidata, creating new items as needed linked to the authors; this will allow Scholia to visualise author networks and other publication data.
  3. Improve Wikipedia content around TPM projects like Kindness in Science and the Disinformation Project.
  4. Create or improve articles of people associated with TPM (such as Tom Roa), where there are plenty of independent reliable published sources so the person meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion.
  5. Work with TPM to release a selection of its photo library into Wikimedia Commons under an open licence, especially events, formal occasions, and headshots of current and former researchers and directors.
  6. Improve Wikipedia articles relevant to TPM's research output, citing its researcher's papers.

TPM people

[edit]

(Note: Wikidata generally uses the full name as given in author lists on publications; Wikipedia will use the most-commonly-referred-by name—for example, the one in a university staff listing. The Scholia link shows the number of publications currently in Wikidata and properly linked to that person's Wikidata ID.)
