Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Islam
| Points of interest related to Islam on Wikipedia: Outline – History – Portal – Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup – Stubs – Assessment – To-do |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion and merging of articles related to Islam. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion and neither does removing an AfD from this page remove it from the main page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add
{{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}}to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear. - You should also tag the AfD by adding
{{subst:deletion sorting|Islam|sig=~~~~}}to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- Edit this page and add
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Islam. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

[edit]- Tripolitsa massacre (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)

As WP:POVFORK of Siege of Tripolitsa#Massacre of civilians. After a dispute at the latter article's talk page, the nominated article "Tripolitsa massacre" was created in order to bypass the dispute and, as Demetrios1993 noted, the new article "doesn't present the sub-topic in further detail, and any attempt to provide some neutrality is swiftly dismissed with reverts". For the issues I raised originally, see here. They remain unaddressed and, in the new article, became much worse.
I simply propose redirecting to Siege of Tripolitsa#Massacre of civilians, as it was pre-edit war. Trabzonluyuz-rumuz-elhamdulillah (talk) 19:48, 5 October 2026 (UTC)

Fails WP:GNG and WP:BIO. I searched Google News, Google Books, and the wider web but could not find significant coverage of the subject in multiple independent, reliable sources. Most available sources consist of passing mentions, interviews, press releases, social-media posts, or affiliated sources.
The article reads largely like a résumé of organizational roles, political activities, and religious affiliations. These do not establish notability on their own. Unless reliable independent sources providing significant coverage can be shown, I don’t see how the subject currently meets WP:GNG or WP:BIO. CRASATO.99 (talk) 10:40, 5 October 2026 (UTC)

- Keep; sufficiently sources, and with capacity for expansion through the linked Malayalam versions. The page not only covers the school, but also another affiliated institution and a student organization. An educational institution with more than 60 years of history is also likely to have further sources available. Klbrain (talk) 17:57, 5 October 2026 (UTC)

I propose selective merging to Salafi movement because it appears to be an essay-like POV fork of that page. Simonm223 (talk) 18:49, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

The article has several concerns regarding source independence WP:RS / WP:IS, potential WP:COI, and WP:LLM-assisted editing.
Most sources appear closely connected to the subject or his teachings, with limited independent coverage to support WP:GNG. Additionally, I suggest reviewing the article history carefully. AriuCH (talk) 01:48, 25 September 2026 (UTC)
