Uranoscopus is a genus of stargazer fish from the family Uranoscopidae.[2] The genus name Uranoscopus is from Ancient Greek οὐρανός (ouranós), meaning "sky, heaven", and σκοπέω (skopéō), meaning "to look".[3]
