Template:WikiProject Computer science/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Purpose

[edit]

To classify and assess computer science articles for WikiProject Computer science. This template should not be used for general computing topics. If you are unsure, please use {{WikiProject Computing}} instead.

Usage

[edit]

To add an article to the Computer Science Category, simply add the template to the talk page of the article with the following parameters:

{{WikiProject Computer science
 |importance=YY
 }}
  • class – This WikiProject follows Project-Independent Quality Assessment. Please add valid |class= values to {{WikiProject banner shell}} instead of this WikiProject. Valid class values can be found at Wikipedia:Content assessment.
  • importance: Options are Top, High, Mid, Low based on this scale. If blank, this will default as Unknown importance.
  • listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Given Names Surname, use |listas=Surname, Given Names so that the talk page will show up in the S's and not the G's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
    If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add |listas= to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
