Template:Language table/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This template scans for all the language userboxes of a given language, and lists them in the standard table for showing userboxes, how to use them, and where they are used.

Note that to do this it uses 10 ParserFunctions each time it is invoked. This is painful on Wikipedia's servers. It also raises the practical issue that on large pages it may exceed the 500 ParserFunction limit. If this is an issue, look into using {{User:LukeShu/usbl}}, {{User:LukeShu/Userboxlist2}}, or {{User:10nitro/usbl}}.

This template was created for programming languages, so without a designated language, it defaults to "prog", however, it can be used for any language following the naming standard "Template:User language-x".

Usage

[edit]

The syntax for using this template is rather simple:

{{Language table|language-abbreviation}}

Or, if the set uses an non-standard location (such as being in user-space), it is possible to have them located at "pathlanguage-x" by setting the |path= parameter:

{{Language table|language-abbreviation|path=User:username/more path_}}

Note that if the location is "User:LukeShu/User c", then the path must be "User:LukeShu/User_", as the space at the end is required, but would be stripped if a literal space, rather than an underscore!
