Template documentationviewedithistorypurge

For the templates that show an article is out of date, see Template:Update and Template:Update inline.

For the template that shows an article will be out of date after a certain date, see Template:Update after.

For the template that marks potentially dated statements, see Template:As of.

Usage

This template automatically dates tags with the current month and year upon placement.

Example:

{{subst:dated|Unreferenced}}

Instead of:

{{Unreferenced|date=October 2026}}

Limitation

Substitution does not work inside <ref>...</ref> tags.

Cleanup templates which are applied inside <ref>...</ref> tags (e.g. {{Dead link}} or {{Bare URL inline}} cannot be applied using {{subst:dated|Foo}}. In such cases the options are to:

• add the date manually
• Leave the cleanup template undated. A bot will be along shortly to add the date.
