Either the formulas copied here are wrong, or this is a junk topic. It is simple to see that the variable 't' plays the role of an accessory parameter defining the origin of the Fourier Transform - nothing more and nothing less. Heh. Given that one of the discoverers is Israel Gelfand, and that there's an Enclyclopedia of Math entry on it, and that its used in the study of optics, it would seem your complaint fails to pass the sniff test. 67.198.37.16 (talk) 07:22, 2 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
