Redirect

Haikouella is a redirect here but is it really needed, many people still consider them separate and multiple articles still say haikouella it’s like how Solza margarita has a separate page from its possible senior synonym Kimberella. Zhenghecaris (talk) 23:38, 6 September 2025 (UTC)

You need to discuss that with User:Hemiauchenia, who converted the existing article to a redirect last year. Donald Albury 00:44, 7 September 2025 (UTC)

Also not everybody agrees with the 2015 study I can still find mentions of Haikouella jot Yunnanozoon in the 2020s like this one and even one from 2025. Zhenghecaris (talk) 23:49, 15 September 2025 (UTC)

@Zhenghecaris While getting consensus on a separate page might be challenging, we can easily add a note about the ongoing debate to the introduction (the two names are already discussed in the main body of the article). Can you link that 2025 paper you mentioned? I took a look at the 2020s paper you linked but it doesn't talk about the debate, it just uses the name Haikouella which isn't that helpful in this context. Many papers continue to use "outdated" names for one reason or another. If there's a later paper that explicitly disputes the 2015 study, that would be the most helpful.
