This whole section looks to have many inaccuracies.

For example The right mouse button works fine for me in the message body. Copy links, open in new window/tab, search, etc. Middle click works to open links in a new tab. Maybe it depends on the browser?

Also I can right click on an address/name and select "copy address"

Page-scrapers do not constitute supported protocols

The "Features" section for the "Free Version" under "Supported Protocols" says, "POP3 in Asia or via YPOPs!". POP3 access is not provided in the free version in the USA, and accessing it via YPOPs! (a page-scraper) is not only not supported (and hence not a "supported protocol"), but also may violate several of the Yahoo! terms of service, hence exposing the user to cancellation of the account amongst other consequences. I think that the same probably applies to the other "available via" entries (e.g. IMAP via Zimbra, etc.) if these are page-scrapers which they presumably are. While these programs can be mentioned somewhere in the article, it is incorrect that they should be listed as "supported protocols" of the service. David F (talk) 11:30, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Help page cannot be found

I have 998 messages on my email account page dating back to 2011. I am trying to sort by date so I can sort out the oldest. Everytime I try to isolate a group a message opens. If I could find help maybe I could work this out.1archie99 (talk) 20:56, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

I found out how to get rid of the old mail. I actually had to do a google search to find help page for yahoo mail; seems ridiculous. It only partially works. Yes, it takes you to an "old" login page BUT upon entering in your login information you are redirected to the "current" login page. I typed in the information a second time, and it brought up the new Yahoo! Mail. (Although in my original update, it simply lead to an Yahoo! error page.)

this edit removed the ! symbol from the name in the infobox and various other places, including in category names. The category changes were recently reverted. The guidance at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks is:

"Avoid using special characters that are not pronounced, are included purely for decoration, or simply substitute for English words (e.g., ♥ used for "love"). In the article about a trademark, it is acceptable to use decorative characters the first time the trademark appears, but thereafter, an alternative that follows the standard rules of punctuation should be used[.]"

Talk page cleanup?

I noticed that user:Ukexpat has removed 5,984 bytes from this talkpage in this edit. Did anyone check it? Wouldn't it be better to set up an archive for old discussions rather than allowing user discretion about which postings are appropriate here? XOttawahitech (talk) 16:15, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

there are no police on Wikipedia. However, our policies are clear on what talk pages of article should and shouldn't be used for. Asking support questions about yahoo mail is clearly out of bounds. Needs privacy policy discussion

The article needs a mention of Yahoo's email data retention policy, how long emails are saved on Yahoo's servers after user deletion (6 months or 18 months or ?), etc. Users can request restoration of accidentally deleted emails, but only if the email date is within the past seven days. Older emails cannot be restored, but are they still hidden on their servers for 6 or 18 months? Someone must have hacked my e-mail because I received messages from my contacts that I had been arrested in Tokyo or Turkey and I needed money. It was on Feb. 2 that I received fewer than usual number of messages in my inbox and have not received any message until now. According to the instructions I changed my password and security answers to security questions on Feb. 4. General Queries

Should it be written 'Yahoo' or 'Yahoo!'? It changes throughout the article.
I do not understand the following sentence from the article: "From 2007, Yahoo! provided major New Zealand Telecom's email service, which came under criticism in early 2013 following a spam and phishing attack that was described as the biggest to have ever hit the country." Adding and Moving Sections

In the features section, there seems to be more than two configurations of e-mail plans (free and business) that are stated. There are seemingly four: Free plan, Plus plan, Ad Free plan, and Business Plan. For example for the "Plus Plan" we can literally take the section in "History" that details the Plus Plan and move it into a "Plus Plan" section of "Features"
I feel like the POP3 section should be somewhere other than features. However, that being said, I do recognize that POP3 is a 'feature' of Yahoo!. It just doesn't seem to fit where it is right now. There is also a lot of information about POP later that does not seem to reflect in the 'POP3 section.'
I feel like the History section can become more clear by breaking it apart into smaller sections like it was done later (e.i. 2011 release, 2013 release, 2015 release). Perhaps new sections can be called Acquisition and 1997 release; 2002 Updates; and Competition and 2004 Updates. What do ya'll think?

Major changes are needed in the description of the configurations. There is no longer a Plus version. There is a Basic and Full Featured version. There is also a Beta test of a new version. It now refers to the Full Featured version as Classic. A complete rewrite is needed.

Privacy of emails

I would like to add this into the list of 'controversies', although there is probably so much user apathy that I'm not sure it fits as a controversy. Anyway, like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail is allowed to read through all users' emails, for the purpose of showing targetted advertising to each of those users.

Why Has Yahoo Discontinued Its Use of the Cloud

Why has Yahoo Mail discontinued its use of the Cloud on Android Smartphones? Is the private equity firm that owns it that cheap? Android Smartphones now have the entire volume of the user's emails loaded onto their phones. It's 2023, and the private equity firm now pushes all of the email storage onto each user's cellphone. Is it the same for iPhone users, who traditionally have more of a challenge in using Yahoo Mail? Do PC users have the same problem? Or is it unique to the design of the Smartphone app?
