The late-medieval bog body discovered in 1957 in 1957 at the Weiter Filz
- ... that a late-medieval bog body (pictured) was discovered in 1957 at the Weiter Filz, a raised bog near Peiting in Upper Bavaria, Germany?

Unsurprising, a new QPQ is needed. You have already used this QPQ at Template:Did you know nominations/Ever Again and cannot re-use it. Without a new QPQ, this nomination will be marked for closure. Dclemens1971 (talk) 20:36, 18 September 2026 (UTC)

- ... that after spending about six centuries in a bog, a woman was still wearing knee-high leather boots?
(translation: "The "woman of Peiting", who was found in 1957 during peat cutting on the municipal territory of Hohenpeißenberg, is the only known bog from Bavaria to date. She was buried in a wooden coffin with her arms crossed over her chest near a path leading through the moor. According to radiocarbon dating, this unusual burial probably took place in the 14th century....The state of preservation of the knee-high leather boots she wore at her funeral and certainly during her lifetime is particularly impressive.") - I will take this review. HerBauhaus · talk 09:04, 22 September 2026 (UTC)
The article was created in mainspace on 17 September 2026 and renominated on 20 September 2026, so new and long enough at 4,071 words. QPQ is not required. Earwig's match is a research paper title, and a spot check found no copyright concerns. I can read German and have checked the relevant bavarikon text against the hook and article.
- Three points remain: (1) The original hook is a reasonable reflection of bavarikon, although "still wearing" is not explicit. A more source-faithful ALT0a would be: ... that the knee-high leather boots buried with the Woman of Peiting survived some six centuries in a bog? This is optional. (2) The hook is not explicitly supported in the article's body. Could you make this clearer to readers by perhaps replacing the opening sentence of the Boots section with something like: "The Woman of Peiting was buried wearing knee-high leather boots, probably in the 14th century. They were remarkably well preserved when her remains were discovered in 1957." (citing bavarikon) (3) Reference [2] returns a 404. Could you provide a working or archived link?
- Happy to revisit once points 2 and 3 are addressed. HerBauhaus · talk 10:45, 22 September 2026 (UTC)
- A ping @IfShrimpHadABarbie: to respond to the review's questions. Dclemens1971 (talk) 14:51, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for the careful review. I’ve revised the opening of the Boots section to state explicitly that the Woman of Peiting was buried wearing knee-high leather boots and that they were well preserved when the coffin was discovered in 1957. I’ve also replaced the broken link in reference [2] with an author-uploaded copy of the paper and corrected the citation’s author names. I’m happy with your suggested ALT0a wording, which avoids implying that "still wearing" is explicit in the source. Thanks again for checking the German text.
