Old Tom Parr did NOT live here
[edit]The town is popular as the birth-place for the alleged oldest ever person Old Tom Parr who lived to over 150 years old, dying in the 1600s.
The uncited mention of 'Old Tom Parr' is incorrect - his home was in the Shropshire village of Winnington on the Welsh border. I have therefore delected this sentence. Tom Parr's longevity claim is trumped by Yorkshireman Henry Jenkins who died 1670 aged allegedly 169.Cloptonson (talk) 19:07, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
