Hello -- I am an employee of The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company and have disclosed this relationship on my user page.

The Wawanesa Insurance article appears to be out of date and currently carries a notice regarding its reliance on primary sources -- the history section relies heavily on Wawanesa-produced sources. I found independent Manitoba government and Winnipeg Free Press sources supporting the company’s founding history. Could an editor review whether these can replace some of the primary citations?

Manitoba Historic Resources Branch material on the company's early history: https://www.gov.mb.ca/chc/hrb/mun/m064.html
Manitoba Historical Society material on Wawanesa's history: https://www.mhs.mb.ca/docs/business/wawanesa.shtml
Winnipeg Free Press coverage of the company and its Winnipeg headquarters
independent insurance-industry coverage of recent financial results, leadership changes and acquisitions

Thank you for any help reviewing or improving the article. Wawalisa (talk) 04:17, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
