Prussian Waterloo medal

[edit]

As far as I know, there was no Prussian Waterloo medal. There was the Prussian Kriegsdenkmünze (war memorial medal) for 1815, granted to every soldier who was engaged in fightig during the 1815 campaign (also those who fought at Ligny, but not a Waterloo, or who only took part in the sieges). Those who alread had received the Kriegsdenkmünze for 1813/14, did not get another medal for 1815, this campaign being thought of as a continuation of the 1813/14 struggle. There were no names stamped on these Kriegsdenkmünzen, however everybody entitled to wear it received a personal certificate from his regiment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.216.80.18 (talk) 11:18, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
