Conflict-of-interest disclosure: I am Andy Gladding, one of the current co-owners/operators of WKZE-FM. Because of my connection to the station, I am requesting that an uninvolved editor review and implement the proposed changes rather than making substantive edits to the article myself.
The WKZE-FM article is substantially out of date following the station's 2025 ownership transition. I am requesting that an uninvolved editor update the article using the independent published sources below, particularly reporting by the Times Union and Radio World.
The requested changes are:
- Update the ownership history to explain the 2025 acquisition of WKZE by Andy Gladding and Kathleen "Katie" Berghorn through FM Pilot, LLC.
- Add context concerning longtime owner Barbara Stanley's decision to sell the station and her stated desire to preserve WKZE's independent identity.
- Document the completion of the transaction in March 2025.
- Update the station's history through the current ownership period.
- Add the technical modernization reported by Radio World, including replacement of the station's longtime transmitter.
- Update the description of WKZE's programming and its emphasis on eclectic, independently programmed music.
- Add independently sourced information concerning the station's educational and community-oriented activities.
- Add a brief, neutrally worded reference to WKZE's Frolic at the Farm live music event, which has received independent local coverage.
- Correct and clarify information concerning WKZE's Red Hook translator, W290BZ (105.9 FM).
The principal independent sources supporting these changes are:
- John W. Barry, "WKZE in Red Hook will be sold to new owners," Times Union, January 13, 2025.
- Elle Kehres, "WKZE Gets a Station Refresh," Radio World, June 6, 2025.
- Devon Jane Schweizer, "Chronogrammies Spotlight: WKZE / Rick Schneider," Chronogram, July 1, 2024.
- "Frolic at the Farm at Hardeman Orchards," The Daily Catch.
I have attempted to keep the requested changes neutral and encyclopedic and to rely on independent secondary sources rather than promotional material published by WKZE.
I would appreciate an uninvolved editor reviewing these sources and updating the article as appropriate for sourcing, neutrality and Wikipedia policy.
Thank you. ~2026-44269-77 (talk) 14:51, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
