The genetic research paper cited in the genetic origins section is not cited correctly.
[edit]It says " Uzbeks can be modeled as 48.8–65.1% Iron Age Indo-Iranians, and 34.9–51.2% Eastern Steppe Xiongnu, from the Mongolian Plateau." but if you actually read the research paper it gives that percentage range including Kazakhs, Uyghurs and Turkmens, not just Uzbeks. It doesn't give an exact percentage of Uzbeks but if you look at the graph it provides you can see that it says Uzbeks are about 60 percent Indo Iranian. Mioncraft (talk) 18:51, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

- Okay, diving into the supplementary spreadsheet and material, it looks like the paper has Uzbeks at: Turkmenistan_IA 59.1%, Mongolia_Xiongnu_o1: 40.9%. I'll update the article accordingly. Writ Keeper ⚇♔ 19:10, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
Numbers of Uzbeks in Afghanistan
[edit]The sources with have been linked to Numbers of Uzbeks in Afghanistan says that Uzbeks are between 6 and 15% of the population of Afghanistan. Can we change the title of numbers, for example like ”3 to 6.1 million”. Thanks Densmartasvensken (talk) 12:16, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
Zoroastrianism
[edit]'The ancient pre-Islamic religion of Uzbekistan-Zoroastrianism survives today'
Survives or has been revived? The source doesn't say anything about continuity, and it doesn't seem reliable for such matters to begin with. 62.73.72.101 (talk) 00:16, 15 September 2025 (UTC)

There is a reference to an article that I find extremely problematic and outdated. When discussing the origins and genetic ancestry of the Uzbek people it stated that the best proxy for their Western ancestry was modern day Abkhaz people, when the modern Abkhaz are completely different and related to Circassians. Please remove this section and add a more up to date study. ~2025-33496-91 (talk) 04:28, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
