Photograph for article

I tried to integrate this photograph into the article but it caused trouble with the text around the ursamajor-guide image. I hope someone in the future can find a way to integrate this into the article with out it causing damage to the article. Triddle 23:46, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Pronunciation

Is the given IPA pronunciation British? I ask because it doesn't have any R sound in it.

Mythology - Javanese

Mythology section, listing Javanese name as Bintang Kartika, further mentions Sanskrit origin krittika कृत्तीका. Can someone verify this. In Indian astronomy, Saptarshi (Ursa Major) and Krittika Kṛttikā (Pleiades) are two different constellations.

Reference to Gibbon

Proposed image addition: NOIRLab annotated image of Ursa Major

Hello, I am affiliated with NSF NOIRLab and would like to propose an additive change to the "Asterisms" subsection under "Features". This is an additive proposal — the existing naked-eye photograph (File:UrsaMajorCC.jpg) would remain untouched in its current position. I am proposing to add a second, complementary image (an annotated wide-field astrophotograph showing the IAU boundaries, stick figure, and labeled stars) directly above it, so that readers have both a naked-eye view and an identification reference side by side in the same section. Proposed change: Add an annotated wide-field image of Ursa Major to the "Asterisms" subsection, placed immediately above the existing File:UrsaMajorCC.jpg.
