I can assure you that I am not an LLM. Thanks for the concern, though. Let me try an a new approach.
In 2018, Universal Avenue acquired the Swedish digital agency Varvet. In 2020, Varvet's co-founder, Jon Kindell, bought back the agency's IP and formed a new legal entity, Varvet AB, and has since operated independently. Varvet (talk) 20:16, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Varvet sentence, a follow-up request

[edit]

Follow-up to the declined request above. Two things first: my account has been renamed from "Varvet" to "Jon at Varvet" per the username policy notice, and the decline was fair cause I used AI assistance/spellchecking to draft that first request. This one I'm writing myself.

The article currently says: "In 2018, Universal Avenue acquired Swedish digital agency Varvet." That sentence is outdated (and the grammar is off). What happened afterward: in 2020, the agency was bought back from Universal Avenue and has operated independently since, under the name Varvet AB, registered in Gothenburg.

Proposed replacement:

In 2018, Universal Avenue acquired the Swedish digital agency Varvet. In 2020, Varvet's management bought the agency back, and it has since operated independently as Varvet AB.

Sources: a Swedish company registry entry service showing Varvet AB, org. no. 559243-1869, registered 2020 (https://www.allabolag.se/foretag/varvet-ab/hov%C3%A5s/internet-konsulter-operat%C3%B6rer/2KHL81PI5YFHL) and varvet.com/story, a self-published story of Varvet.

COI: I am one of the original founders of Varvet, which is why I'm requesting this here instead of editing the article. Jon at Varvet (talk) 21:04, 16 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

🔼  Clarification requested

  • bought the agency back I think you mean re-purchased? And to whom was it sold to, the proposed text says "management" but that could mean anyone.
  • and has since operated independently since when, 2020? The text should specify the year, not just once, but a second time since the phrase mentions two things: being repurchased and being operated.
  • When ready to proceed with the requested information, kindly change the {{Edit COI}} template's answer parameter to read from |ans=y to |ans=n.

Thank you! Regards,  Spintendo  03:21, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, all three points are fair. Repurchased is the better word. On who: I repurchased the agency myself, as its founder, so the proposed text now names me rather than "management". The year now appears in both clauses. Revised proposal:

In 2018, Universal Avenue acquired the Swedish digital agency Varvet. In 2020, founder Jon Kindell repurchased the agency from Universal Avenue, and it has operated independently as Varvet AB since 2020.

Same sources as before: the company registry entry (Varvet AB, org. no. 559243-1869, registered 2020) and varvet.com/story. I have changed the template's answer parameter to |ans=n as instructed. Jon at Varvet (talk) 08:04, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
