The synthetic scheme due to Bowen needs to be replaced. -It reproduces an error in the original paper (introduction of double bond by acylation and reduction by Grignard). -Also, the Wiki figure mistakenly indicates resolution of enantiomers during acylation. Resolution occurs by cocrystallization of the acid early in the process. -The typography of the chiral center is not proper.
I do not know the Wiki policy of correcting versus reproducing obvious errors?
