Naming

[edit]

As there are other things known as "La Travesía", even within Honduras, perhaps this will need to be disambiguated eventually. Best name, suggestions? -- Infrogmation 17:05, 9 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

How about, La Travesía (Maya site)? Agreed we probably need to work out some consistent guidelines for site name dabs, let's suggest at WP:MESO/G.
Curiously enough, when searching for background materials on this site I came across this document which appears to be presentation notes from some academic or student, which in turn makes a reference to a definition appearing in Wikipedia. Influence appears to be spreading...(!)--cjllw | TALK 02:11, 12 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
the site is known in the archaeological literature as simply "Travesía", not La Travesía. Yes, there are other locations known by the same name in Honduras, but fortunately not as yet with archaeological remains. Rsheptak 23:57, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks Rsheptak, I've moved the article to Travesía accordingly. If and when we need to start accommodating other meanings of Travesía on wiki we can set up a Travesía (disambiguation) page. --cjllw | TALK 01:04, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
