History

[edit]

I think that this article would be improved with a section about the history of the school. Did it exist 50 years ago? If yes, it would presumably have been much smaller then. Alan Pascoe 09:23, 14 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Might be able to find this information from the school itself. If no-one else does, then I'll maybe go in and ask about it when I get home from Uni. I left there 4 years ago, so I probably still know teachers. Icecradle 14:34, 14 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Could still do with a history section. Looks like there may be some coverage in The Making of Basingstoke: From Prehistory to the Present Day (Eric Stokes, Bob Applin), Basingstoke Archaeological & Historical Society (2008), but text not online. I have added in a local newspaper reference for its date of establishment in 1957 - it's possible there was an earlier school on the site, I don't have any local knowledge.
