Why the little oddity in the original title?

- Actually, in French, the H can be either mute or not (see Aspirated h). In the first case, like in l'hirondelle, you should do the contraction (see Elision (French)), in the second, like in la hanche, you should not. Hérisson belongs to the second category, it is why the film's original title is Le Hérisson (I know, I know, French is a complicated and confusing language).
