General comments

Taking this up. Great job with this article, it's well written and, though I'm not too familiar with these types of articles, appears comprehensive. The description of the fellow in the lede made me chuckle, I thought it was a bit harsh.

A cast is in the Ulster Museum, Belfast. needs a citation
Cathedral Hill (also known as... There's no end to this bracket, it could be replaced with a comma
Mark Williams is an Associate Professor of Global Medieval Literature-- is he qualified to be dating the idol? This seems to be the WP:FRINGE position of a non-expert, but then what expertise would help one date a stone carving?
ref 15 isn't a reference and there's no source cited.

29: I'm not seeing anything about a double-headed figure from Boa Island, please tell me if I'm being dense. It appears to instead compare the idol to a figure carved into a boulder from Rathmullan, County Donegal. ref 28 (the BBC source) doesn't appear to be relevant to this material and it dates the idol beyond what is presented as the scholarly consensus, calling into question its reliability as a source.
6: doesn't seem to describe the idol as squat or without a neck
14: Could you provide the quotation supporting this?
ref 18 doesn't support that the idol is from 1st century BC, it just says Iron Age. The same is true of ref 17.
The second instance of ref 8 doesn't appear to mention it as a shrine
