Request to correct and update biography
[edit]| The user below has a request that an edit be made to Steve Durand. That user has an actual or apparent conflict of interest. The requested edits backlog is very high. Please be extremely patient. There are currently 891 requests waiting for review. Please read the instructions for the parameters used by this template for accepting and declining them, and review the request below and make the edit if it is well sourced, neutral, and follows other Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Remember to set the |answered= parameter to "yes" when the request has been accepted, rejected or on hold awaiting user input. |
‘’‘Conflict-of-interest disclosure:’’’ I am Steve Durand, the subject of this article. I am therefore requesting that an independent editor review and make these changes rather than editing the article directly myself.
The article contains outdated information and at least one significant biographical error. It also ends around 2011 and does not cover the substantial change in my work since 2015.
1. Birthplace correction
[edit]The article states that I was born in Cantley, Quebec. This is incorrect. I was born in Cali, Colombia, and later lived in Quebec. Because the existing Cantley birthplace appears to be unsupported by a citation, I request that it be removed. If a suitable published source confirming Cali is required before adding the correct birthplace, I understand that the birthplace can simply be omitted until one is available.
2. Proposed addition concerning LeTerrain
[edit]I request the addition of a short, neutrally written section covering my work at LeTerrain. Suggested wording:
‘’‘LeTerrain’’’
In 2015, Durand moved to a large wilderness property near Ladysmith in La Pêche, Quebec, which he developed as LeTerrain, a privately owned wilderness preserve. In 2025, the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada designated LeTerrain a Dark-Sky Preserve. Durand has also documented extensive stone structures located on the property and elsewhere in western Quebec, which have become the subject of his continuing research and documentary work.

The Debrief article directly connects my earlier career as a musician and producer with my later founding of LeTerrain and documentation of the stone structures. The Equity, The Weather Network and RASC independently document LeTerrain and the Dark-Sky Preserve designation.
3. Outdated external link
[edit]The article’s existing official website link, thesparklingbrown.com, is outdated. I request that the dead or obsolete link be removed. My present official project website is:
If editors consider this primarily an organizational website rather than a personal website, I am content for the old link simply to be removed until an updated personal music page is published.
4. General updating of the music section
[edit]The musical biography and discography are incomplete and end around 2011. I can provide a concise list of corrections and additions, together with independent published sources, in a separate edit request. I have kept this request focused on the clear birthplace error, the well-sourced LeTerrain chapter and the outdated external link.
Thank you for reviewing these requested changes.
