In withdrawing the nomination for deletion, Clarityfiend raised the question: Should this be renamed Mobley v. State?" I am therefore listing this here for discussion.
Oppose renaming. Like many death penalty cases, the legal cases concerning Stephen Mobley proceeded under a number of different titles. We shouldn't arbitrarily select one of them to discuss the case when people searching for the article might well not be using that title. For example, while Mobley's initial prosecution took place under the title "The State v Mobley", this prosecution was halted due to a mistrial. A second prosecution then took place under the title, "The State v Stephen A. Mobley," (emphasis added) and the proceedings that actually mention most of the procedural and psychological history that is interesting here took place under "Turpin v Mobley." So the proposed name most-closely matches the appeals related to the initial, abandoned prosecution, not the cases of most interest. --Eggishorn(talk)(contrib)13:44, 18 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
