Staubbach Fall → Staubbach Falls – The spelling "Staubbach Falls" appears to be over three times more common in English sources (2860 hits to 868 hits on Google Books) and was the original name of this article. It may have been moved because its German name is singular but, in English, we commonly use "Falls" or "Waterfall", rarely "Fall". An acceptable alternative would be "Staubbach Waterfall", but this only has 887 hits on Google books, about the same as "Fall". Bermicourt (talk) 08:23, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
- Strong oppose The plural in English is, in this case, simply a wrong translation. Even in English there is a distinction between the singular and the plural. It is not arbitrary. There are numerous examples. Just the undereducated erronously thinks that the plural is generally valid just because the vast majority of waterfalls is plural. Merriam-webster: "Waterfall: a perpendicular or very steep descent of the water of a stream". -- ZH8000 (talk) 14:03, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
- Comment. I'm afraid Wikipedia uses WP:COMMONNAME, whatever we might think the right translation is. For example, the well known German football team is Bayern Munich in English, even though a strict translation would be "Bavaria Munich". In any case, "fall" is not correct English; it's either "waterfall" or "falls". See the Cambridge Dictionary here. Also see List of waterfalls of the United Kingdom or List of waterfalls of the United States - it's always "Xxxx Falls". --Bermicourt (talk) 14:35, 14 December 2017 (UTC)

Otherwise he would not have been called the upper, by far largest, and single fall of the Reichenbach Falls "The Great Fall of the Reichenbach", correctly in singular. - Comment. You mean the subject of The Shadow of Reichenbach Falls by J.R. King (2011)? A different waterfall? We can trade individual sources for ever; the fact is that "Fall" is rarely used.
