Should “thousanth” be “thousandth” in the Rational approximations section?

[edit]

Is the typo “thousanth” actually in the cited book or did it creep in when the article was written?

Thanks. Wprlh (talk) 06:17, 6 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

It seems to be a typo. The book says " ...the square root of 7 to the nearest thousandth" (113).

Thanks, I'm going to change it. Sticklink (talk) 16:52, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

continued fraction

[edit]

It would be good to extend the continued fraction enough to show its periodicity (as all quadratic roots have periodic c.f.s), if not in the top box then in the section Rational approximations. —Antonissimo (talk) 19:28, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
