Edit request: update assets under management and fund count

[edit]

Edit request: update assets under management and fund count

[edit]

Current text: "The firm has since grown to three funds and over $100 million under management."

Proposed text: "As of 2026, the firm manages over $1 billion in assets across four funds."

Source — assets under management: Space Capital is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser (CRD No. 287867, SEC No. 801-134626). Its Form ADV, filed March 23, 2026, reports regulatory assets under management of $1,168,225,834 (Item 5.F).[1] Nasdaq similarly describes the firm as "a venture capital firm with $1 billion assets under management."[2]

Source — fund count: The firm's fourth fund, Space Capital IV L.P., is registered with the SEC as a venture capital fund (Form D, filed February 2026).[3]

Done Brendan.Guin One link is dead, and ref 8 is missing. STEMinfo (talk) 23:31, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for implementing this, @STEMinfo. On the dead link: the Form D citation should point to the EDGAR filing index page rather than the raw XML: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2097734/000209773426000001/0002097734-26-000001-index.htm — the SEC filing detail for Form D, Space Capital IV L.P. (filed February 26, 2026). That should also clear the "citation needed" on the fund count. Brendan.Guin (talk) 13:24, 27 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Brendan.Guin: Fixing a ref and removing the tag is uncontroversial, so you can do that yourself. STEMinfo (talk) 18:58, 27 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Edit request: add founder's book to Publications section

[edit]

Please add the following sentence to the Publications section:

"Space Capital founder Chad Anderson is the author of The Space Economy: Capitalize on the Greatest Business Opportunity of Our Lifetime (Wiley, 2023)."

Source: [1]

Factual, uncontroversial addition. I am an employee of Space Capital and have disclosed this on my user page. Brendan.Guin (talk) 14:55, 27 July 2026 (UTC) Brendan.Guin (talk) 14:55, 27 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Partly done Thanks for the disclosure and for keeping the request focused. I've added a sentence about the book, and I added a brief neutral sentence summarizing a review of the book. Zxm92 (talk) 14:50, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks @Zxm92! One flag: the book sentence and the review sentence don't appear to be live in the article yet — the most recent revision in the page history is my 28 July dead-link fix, so it looks like the edit may not have saved. Could you take another look when you get a chance? Appreciated. Brendan.Guin (talk) 15:28, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Reactivating this request. It was marked "Partly done" on 31 July, but the change does not appear in the article's revision history (latest revision is my 28 July dead-link fix), so the edit does not seem to have saved. Requesting that the following be added to the Publications section:
"Space Capital founder Chad Anderson is the author of The Space Economy: Capitalize on the Greatest Business Opportunity of Our Lifetime (Wiley, 2023)."[2]

@STEMinfo: Following up here — this request was marked "Partly done" by another editor on 31 July, but the edit doesn't appear in the article's history, so it seems it never saved. It's just the single sourced sentence above for the Publications section. Since you handled the earlier request smoothly, would you mind taking a look when you have a moment? Much appreciated. Brendan.Guin (talk) 15:05, 18 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
If you want to post information about company or employee-related books or reports, you need an independent source showing that the book or report is notable enough to include. For books, that means a review in an independent source. For reports, any independent media coverage of the report is sufficient. Research papers are required to have high citation counts, to demonstrate notability. This prevents the encyclopedia from being filled up with self-published books or reports. For this reason, I also removed the info about your company's GPS report. I'll leave this open so you can find an independent source. If not, it will be declined. STEMinfo (talk) 00:35, 20 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@STEMinfo: Thanks, that's a clear standard. Independent sourcing for both items below.
1. The book (Publications section). Independent review:
Foust, Jeff (April 17, 2023). "Review: The Space Economy." The Space Review. https://www.thespacereview.com/article/4565/1 — The Space Review is independent of the firm (its editor, Jeff Foust, is also a senior staff writer at SpaceNews).
Suggested sentence:
"Space Capital founder Chad Anderson is the author of The Space Economy: Capitalize on the Greatest Business Opportunity of Our Lifetime (Wiley, 2023), which was reviewed in The Space Review."[3][4]
2. Additional edit request — the Space Investment Quarterly (Publications section). To document independent coverage of the report, suggested addition to the existing quarterly-report paragraph:
"The Space Investment Quarterly is regularly covered by independent financial and trade press, including CNBC, Via Satellite, and SpaceNews."[5][6][7][8]
I am an employee of Space Capital and have disclosed this on my user page. Brendan.Guin (talk) 13:53, 20 August 2026 (UTC) Brendan.Guin (talk) 13:53, 20 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@STEMinfo: Following up: for the book I've added the independent review you asked for (Jeff Foust in The Space Review), and for the Space Investment Quarterly I've added independent press coverage (CNBC, Via Satellite, SpaceNews). Do these meet the standard you described? Happy to adjust if anything falls short. Thanks again for the guidance. Brendan.Guin (talk) 18:45, 31 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not done Brendan.Guin The quarterly report is already in the article. The book is written by an employee, not the company, and so it shouldn't be part of the company article. Removing template and keeping this marked answered. STEMinfo (talk) 07:25, 23 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'm an employee of Space Capital (disclosed on my user page). I've narrowed this to two discrete factual corrections; the book and quarterly-report items were addressed in a separate thread and are withdrawn here.

1. Infobox — Key people. Current: "Chad Anderson, Tom Ingersoll" Proposed: "Chad Anderson, Tom Ingersoll, Justus Kilian" Source: the firm's SEC Form D for Space Capital IV L.P. lists Chad Anderson, Thomas Ingersoll, and Justus Kilian as managing partners of the general partner.[1]

2. Lead — correct outdated present-tense framing of Space Angels. Current: "Space Capital is the parent brand of Space Angels, an online angel investment platform, and Space Talent, a career platform and central node for space industry jobs." Proposed: "The firm was originally known as Space Angels and adopted the Space Capital name in 2020." Sources: [2][3]
