Inaccurate career statement?

The beginning of the article says:

... who served in multiple high-ranking positions in the Chinese government throughout his lifetime.

But it's clear that he retired in 1992, and it appears that in reality, he only held high-ranking positions beginning in 1977, when he was around 60 years old.
