As I understand it, the Smithsonian has a document that gives suggested usage for museums. I was told about this by a (non-Smithsoniam) museum curator regarding the units for jet engine thrust. It might be that it is only available to museum curators, but I suspect not. I am interested in it, as it might also be useful for some questions related to WP pages, though not necessarily this one. Based on the description in the Raw Story article, the David Barton described here is the Christian nationalist political activist David Barton. Not much of a historian (and he apparently has no formal degrees in the field), but he served for 9 years as the vice chairman of the Texas Republican Party, and a separate term as a political consultant to the Republican National Committee. I have ran into his fringe theories before. He claims that abortion causes climate change. It's a sad state of affairs when Jehovah, who used to punish evildoers with a a plague of frogs, worldwide flood or fire from the sky, is reduced to setting the thermostat higher.
