Lawsuit?

At the end of the lede, there is an unexplained mention of a lawsuit:

The agreement to donate the statue was made before the lawsuit was filed, and the lawsuit itself was overturned by the judge who originally approved it, who ruled that the SCV lacked standing to bring the lawsuit.

Some explanation comes in much later section Overturned transfer to Sons of Confederate Veterans.
