Can anyone say whether the Short Strand is a potentially dangerous place to visit today? If so, should the article mention it? (I know Wikipedia isn't supposed to be a travel guide.) Some travel books that I've read specifically caution visitors to avoid the area, although as the situation in Belfast has changed a lot in recent years, that advice may well be outdated. 217.155.20.163 15:27, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Spelling of Ballymacarrett

The townland name with two "ts" is the more usual usage in N. Ireland and Belfast. Two "ts" is not more phonetically nor linguistically 'correct' than one "t" but is the more common spelling.The Short Strand is part of Ballymacarrett. Billsmith60 (talk) 22:06, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

The townland's official name is Ballymacarret (with one T). See here and here. The electoral ward uses the spelling Ballymacarrett (with two Ts). ~Asarlaí 17:14, 27 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
