Rather Unhelpful
[edit]As a minimum an article on SWRs, which are defined by oscillatory local field potentials, should illustrate recordings of these SWRs. Also, since it's claimed that large numbers of neurons fire in synchrony during SWRs, this should also be illustrated. Furthermore, if these neurons are firing in synchrony, how can they be firing in sequences that recapitulate their activity sequences during spatial exploration? It's claimed that SWRs are essential for learning, even though the Kovacs paper claims the opposite.It all sounds rather dubious Paulhummerman (talk) 19:38, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, the article still leaves much to be desired (Jan. 2025). I inserted a figure showing a recorded SWR for starters. Your point that synchrony contradicts sequence is well taken, I will try to clarify. Millencolin (talk) 09:27, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
