Hello @Redtigerxyz, I saw you put a tag up on this page in 2021. I do want to ask what your reasons are for this suggestion before I offer my opinion Chilicave (talk) 04:53, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

Chilicave, the Shamlaji temple is a notable WP:N temple and deserves its own separate article, while this article can focus on the place of Shamlaji as a town.--Redtigerxyz ^Talk 06:53, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

@Redtigerxyz, I could not find any reliable sources about the Shamlaji temple outside of the one's mentioned in the article. When looking at WP:N, there is no fixed number of sources required since sources vary in quality and depth of coverage, but multiple sources are generally expected. I'm not sure we have enough sources to be able to split off this entire section into a new article, unless you are able to find some sources. Chilicave (talk) 03:50, 19 November 2023 (UTC)

  I couldn't find anything besides the already listed sources either. I did open Schastok's Oxford Art Online article and the Brill book—they're accessible through WP:TWL—but did not find anything immediately useful towards an article on the main temple either. Perhaps George Michell's The Penguin Guide to the Monuments of India has more material on this. Dhaky's Encyclopaedia of Indian Temple Architecture has a page on Shamalaji but that also doesn't seem to be about the main temple. I suppose if there isn't enough to write anything substantial on the temple, the split request can be closed as moot... regards, TryKid ^{[dubious – discuss]} 17:46, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
