It would be helpful to have a definition and/or description of a "rootkit", for those less-savvy individuals such as myself. That is what I was seeking when I encountered this article. No disambig page. If I were qualified to remedy this situation, I wouldn't have arrived here at all. Please help, if you can. RootkitRevealer may be obsolete, due to the sunset of the 32-bit OS/processor (i'm stretching the limits of my expertise, if it can be called that — please correct me if i have misunderstood!), but the problem of rootkit malware seems to still be with us. I may try to create the article as I research, but past experience has been that, though the need is obvious, my limited abilities result in deletion before more knowlegable help arrives. Rootkit Revealer Revival

Microsoft should consider reviving development of this tool. What a shame it has been discontinued for so many years.
