There is no word "radiofrequency". It's "radio frequency".

Pain management
[edit]The sub-section Pain Management in its first sentence refers the reader to a separate page discussing rhizotomy (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhizotomy) which then advises readers seeking information on Facet Rhizotomy to follow the embedded Wikipedia reference to that topic, which automatically sends the reader directly back to the Pain Management topic here.
A direct search for Facet Rhizotomy refers the reader back to the main topic Radiofrequency Ablation.
I came across this fairly minor issue while seeking “starter” information for personal use, and I’m not qualified to offer meaningful content suggestions in this field.
It feels however, almost like there may have been a discussion/plan/attempt at separating Facet Rhizotomy from both Radiofrequency Ablation and Pain Management, but it’s either been decided against or not completed.
I’ve not made any edits as this is a highly technical medical field in which I’m not qualified to recognise anything past the circular/awkward reference noted here. 203.214.87.168 (talk) 06:37, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
Use of RFA for Migraine/Headache is Missing
[edit]Several contributions have been removed to expand on this missing topic. 177 Articles on Pubmed alone contain the terms "Radiofrequency ablation" and "Headache". Wikipedia should make a best effort to be an up to date source. Sxn132 (talk) 02:29, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- User Sxn132 appears to be this author of several publications on the use of RFA for relieving headache, some of which were cited in a 3x-reverted 'Headache' section of the article in Special:Diff/1309806949 by Sxn132.
- On the talk page of Sxn132, a proposed WP:BLP article on Alaa Abd-Elsayed was declined, and a conflict of interest notice was posted, which apparently was somewhat acknowledged and misplaced on the main user page.
- Procedures for disclosing a conflict of interest are described here. User Snx132 should follow these steps to notify this article talk page and on the user's talk page.
- Concerning the proposed Headache section sources, 1) Ochsner Journal is not a reliable medical source, as it is not MEDLINE-indexed (unestablished and/or not regarded as a high-quality clinical source); 2) the Journal of Headache and Pain source about targeting the sphenopalatine ganglion and other cranial nerves for RFA seems mostly speculative and unestablished clinically; the review was only of case reports and the authors reported that the analysis was limited by the absence of well-designed clinical trials; 3) the "ALblation" method, apparently vanity-named after the sole author, Alaa Abd-Elsayed, is not an independent WP:MEDRS review.
- Overall, the use of RFA to ablate nerves putatively involved in migraine and other headaches is not founded on MEDRS sources. Accordingly, this section is not warranted to be included. Zefr (talk) 19:39, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
