no parallax from Gaia yet
[edit]I went looking for the parallax for RR Tel in the Gaia results via Simbad, and found that in both Gaia DR1 and DR2 this parallax is both negative and many times the uncertainty given with the value. A negative parallax, of course, is physically impossible. This sort of issue is discussed in several papers on the Gaia results, caused by off-diagonal elements in the covariance matrix, so it is an annoyance rather than indicating a serious problem. An additional indicator that this is what's going on is that the Gaia proper motion numbers don't agree tolerably with previous determinations. We'll have to wait for a better treatment in the literature; even this discussion of the issue would make for an OR issue if put into the main article.
