Fish

- I doubt there are any fish in them or at least not big quill lake. I stopped once to look at the lake and could see the lake was filled with brine shrimp. A tourism radio station stated that the water is 7 times salty than the ocean. If this is true it would be 21% salt which would not be possible with sodium chloride because this is around the limit of it's solubility. The water tastes incredibly bitter rather than salty (likely due to the magnesium and potassium content). I have also not seen big quill lake freeze over, in spite of it being only 1.5m average depth and several months of cold weather. The lake is hundreds of km from the ocean so the introduction of salt-water fish is unlikely, even if they could tolerate it. And no, sea monkeys are not fish.
