Merge with Quidi Vidi, Newfoundland and Labrador
[edit]A brief read of these two articles suggests that they are referring to the same location. If this assumption is incorrect, Quidi Vidi, Newfoundland and Labrador should at least be mentioned on the Quidi Vidi page, and vice versa.
Mysterious etymology
[edit]This is a very unusual placename for Newfoundland, and according to this CBC article no one knows what it means or what language it's in, with theories ranging from origins in French, Portuguese, Latin, or English names or phrases. This should be mentioned in the article, along with the changing spelling over time. Right now it just says the pronunciation varies but the name itself is more interesting.
