The subject of this article should not be limited to "Produce" but to all Foods. Traceability is very important to meats and processed foods as well as just produce. Pkgx (talk) 18:03, 28 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
And the entire article only refers to the US. Europe has had full traceability for a few years now. (Regulations enacted after the problems with BSE in Britain.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.82.39.2 (talk) 14:18, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I would like to contextualize “produce traceability” without losing its specific focus on produce, by explaining it within the broader concepts of food traceability, product traceability, and component traceability—including the different purposes, benefits, limitations, regulatory requirements, and sometimes competing interests involved in tracing things through supply chains. The goal should be a substantially more robust, comprehensive, educational, and easy-to-read Wikipedia article that explains not only how produce is traced, but why traceability matters across increasingly complex food, product, and component supply networks. The article should preserve “produce traceability” as its central subject while making clear how it fits into this larger traceability framework.MaynardClark (talk) 20:23, 7 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
