Dairy Cow Morph

[edit]

There was an unsupported statement declaring the dairy cow morph a separate but undescribed species incapable of breeding with Porcellio laevis. Were this true, certainly a biologist would describe the new species and we'd have a source to cite. So, I deleted that statement. If I'm wrong, then perhaps whoever inserted it could put it back in and with a source cited? ~2026-12096-88 (talk) 18:02, 23 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

There really isn't much interest from actual biologists on the topic, which is why many isopods are under described. There is some citizen science from hobbyists like Nathan Jones and others who have published papers describing many isopod species, and reclassifying others, but the statement and description of Porcellio aff. laevis never became an actual paper and just stayed as an instagram post. I'll see if I can find it and cite it sometime Major Wd (talk) 15:17, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
