That whole section which I undid was a quotation of a primary source, and not in easily understandable modern English. Per WP:RS, we shouldn't quote extensively from primary sources. Instead, that section needs to discuss how Renaissance pomadors were made, what they resembled, etc., and that info needs to come from secondary sources. Issue with link to "calamite"?

The word "calamite" in the recipe that says "Benzoin resin, calamite, labdanum, and storax balsam were ground into a powder, dissolved in rose water and put into a pan over a fire to cook together." links to the article "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calamites", which is an extinct genus of plants related to horsetails.
