Amid a long list of bad and/or false things Buchanan is asserted (correctly, AFAIK) to have said, there is one that should be omitted:
"He claimed Demjanjuk was the victim of mistaken identity" [as "Ivan the Terrible"]. In the context, this very strongly implies that Demjanjuk was Ivan the terrible. It turned out that he was not; he was a victim, as Buchanan said, of mistaken identity (though subsequently convicted of lesser crimes).
I inserted a correction and someone reverted it. If anyone thinks it should not be re-reverted, the matter should be discussed here. Longitude2 (talk) 21:02, 13 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

"Buchanan returned to his column ..."
Repeated a few times, it is unclear from the rest of the article which/what column. I saw a mention "His columns are syndicated nationally by Creators Syndicate", but that doesn't clarify. What makes me question this is that I came here from the Washington Times article which mentioned him giving up "his column". And which publication isn't mention at all in this article. Paleoconservatism has largely merged with the Trumpist right and postliberals or "New Right" thing in the early-to-mid 2020s, as many of their ideas overlap. Many on the left and right have noted that Buchanan's politics share major similarities with those two movements, if not direct influence from him. I added the following text to note that: "An influential figure within paleoconservatism, a nationalist and traditionalist strain of conservatism in the United States, many observers consider Buchanan's politics a predecessor to Trumpism and the contemporary postliberal New Right." Any changes to the wording should acknowledge the point made here, as it's been widely discussed since Trump's second campaign and admin. Futuremaineretiree (talk) 18:06, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
