In the middle of 8th century the great king of kashmir Lalitaditiya founded the city of Parihaspur or paraspur as it is now called by the locals and is sotuated 2.5 south west of shadipur and is between the villages of Panznoir and Haratrath and stretching from there on the Karewa of Ichman Dever,on the banks of Jhelum.The karewas of parihaspor and Diver are situated at a distance of fourteen miles from srinagar on the Baramullah road.They were chosen by king Lalitaditya(750) for the erection of new capital citt.Among these in Parihaspura,the most important are three Buddhist structures a stupa,a monastery and a chaitya.Their common features are that enormous size of the blocks of limestone used in their construction,the smoothness of their dressing,and the fitness of their jionts.The base is 128 ft 2 inch square in plan,with offsets and flight of steps on each side.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Ruhoolkawa (talkcontribs) 16:05, 1 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
