The result of the move request was: redirect the other way. There is consensus that Operation Project Freedom is the WP:PTOPIC for "Project Freedom", but, as I mentioned a week ago when I relisted this, there hasn't really been any evidence given for why Operation Project Freedom should be at Project Freedom rather than having Project Freedom be a redirect, and there are valid WP:CONSISTENCY concerns here. There's also the fact the proposer wasn't entirely aware of the procedures and other support voters likely also just being interested in having "Project Freedom" lead them to this article instead of some album. • Redirect Project Freedom to Operation Project Freedom. I was surprised when I saw the disambiguation notice go onto Joey DeFrancesco as it's one of his later albums and not particularly well known AFAIK. If anything the redirect should go to the discography page which is where the album is mentioned.
  I don't agree that people looking for Operation Project Freedom are searching for this name -- until the RfM there was almost no traffic -- but it doesn't make sense for Joey D. Oblivy (talk) 07:45, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
• Truthfully, I'm slightly confused by the proposal syntax. What I am proposing is that Project Freedom redirects to Operation Project Freedom instead of Joey DeFranceso in case that's not clear, and what I meant by "Readers searching this term are almost certainly..." is that readers searching "Project Freedom" are almost certainly looking for Operation Project Freedom. That's not what the header says. It says that "proposed ... that Operation Project Freedom be renamed and moved to Project Freedom" (which I oppose). If that's not what you want then maybe this RfC has to be redone? Oblivy (talk) 03:52, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

Description of suggested change:

I suppose I should preface that I'm not requesting that the article be written from an aggressive point of view, but I do find it odd that there is barely a mention about Congress' reaction, seeing how Operation Epic Fury came to an end easily arguably due to the 60 day limit on unauthorized military operations, Operation Project Freedom picks up where Operation Epic Fury was time-barred, and the constant doublespeak and runaround that the administration provides to Congress and the press regarding the war/not war/whatever you want to call it. I also know the article is a stub and a potentially ongoing event, but when the primary source being used in the article is hostile to transparency and does not include additional sources, the reader has no choice but to doubt the neutral point of view of this stub as it currently stands. ~2026-28242-76 (talk) 03:38, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
