No Fauna and Flora

[edit]

I remember when the bombs fell, wiping Ontario clean of all of its native fauna and flora, and sterilizing Canada's most populated province for generations to come. I understand and respect completely Wikipedia's choice to not talk about all of these non-existent animals and plants, for fear of triggering PTSD. Thank you. Safyrr 15:29, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

What are you talking about? Masterhatch (talk) 15:40, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Just saying the article on Canada's most populated province could use a section on fauna and flora. A lot of other less populated provinces have one, like Quebec, Manitoba, Alberta, New Brunswick, etc. Safyrr 15:45, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
oh, I see. Adding humour to Wikipedia ;) Well, feel free to add that section. Masterhatch (talk) 15:49, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I may eventually do that, for real, since I started working on lists of fauna and flora for Canadian provinces a few weeks ago. But for the moment, I am just saddened my List of amphibians of Ontario, a memorial list of course, is an orphan, and it has nothing to link to :( #IRememberOntarioFauna #WW3WasAMistake Safyrr 16:08, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Semi Protection

[edit]

does this article need semi protection or at least some type of protection? Gosensgo1992 (talk) 14:25, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Nah it's just one person, and we seem to be on top of it. Canterbury Tail talk 15:12, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
ok, good luck! Gosensgo1992 (talk) 16:15, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Semi protection was added now. J'ai a GJ (talk) 12:22, 19 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! Gosensgo1992 (talk) 17:41, 19 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Looks like it may need full protection. Slatersteven (talk) 09:33, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

yes, I agree Gosensgo1992 (talk) 20:45, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
In the last week we've had a single instance of disruption on the article, and one accidental mistake edit. Nothing remotely requiring protection changes. Canterbury Tail talk 20:50, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
okay that's good Gosensgo1992 (talk) 20:51, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Parameters

[edit]

@Canterbury Tail I disagree with you reverting my edit as I wanted to replace any deprecated parameters with instead recommended and new ones. Mind if you also explain on how this would be considered a "breaking edit"? GuesanLoyalist (talk) 06:54, 25 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Did you preview before you saved, or look at the article after you had made your changes? If so you would have seen the errors you introduced. One was the {{{timezone1_location}}} in the infobox due to the incorrect altering of parameters. Also the broken link in the EST offset due to the entry of s in the offset, there are never second offsets. Also see WP:NOTBROKEN but that's secondary to the breaking edits. Canterbury Tail talk 12:19, 25 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have previewed, but I didn't notice the {{{timezone1_location}}}. thank you for taking this to light with me. The part were I added the s was by accident, I mistyped and that's how we got the typo.
However, while I previewed an edit, I decided to leave {{{time_zone1_location}}} as {{{timezone1_location}}} and it actually works! We'll need to get an editor to edit the infobox to fix said error. GuesanLoyalist (talk) 12:45, 25 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

FAQ

[edit]

Do we need an FAQ saying, "this is not the lake and the USA president does not have the right to rename a non-US land feature"? Slatersteven (talk) 09:35, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

No, the trolls who do that won't read it so you're only wasting your own time. Canterbury Tail talk 13:07, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Well it will mean we can just type "See FAQ" and close them. Slatersteven (talk) 13:11, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I agree with Canterbury Tail. Please don't integrate the distraction du jour into Wikipedia. Mgnbar (talk) 13:31, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
