External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Old Kannada. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20071013122739/http://jnanpith.net/laureates/index.html to http://jnanpith.net/laureates/index.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Notes on the general reconstruction of this article
[edit]I revised the Kannada grammar article recently, and decided to do the same for this article. I've been using my notes and other references to revise the presentation of Old Kannada grammar, partially because Kittel's description is not sufficiently systematic. The main changes I'm making are drawing from B. Ramachandra Rao's grammar, as well as making reference to Kēśirāja's presentation of Kannada grammar. I realize that this will make the modern Kannada article and Old Kannada articles look extremely similar, so I welcome suggestions to differentiate them. The main problem is that modern (literary) Kannada does in fact resemble Old Kannada to a great degree, since modern Kannada grammarians have been using Kēśirāja as a model for the last century. - I've finished my revisions of this article, which I believe to be more in-keeping with the Kannada scholarship. The only thing that needs additional attention is the Middle Kannada section, for which I've given very brief details since it is a bit hard to find dedicated study on the medieval language. Anyone who has the ability to do this is encouraged to add information on Middle Kannada. Lohaangshe (talk) 19:31, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
