Nutritional Value of Oatmeal

- That source makes over-the-top unproven claims of anticancer effects and antioxidant activity from phytochemicals.
- Raw uncooked oats do have a more favorable nutritional profile - 7x the protein and fiber contents, with B vitamins and several minerals in good amounts. Quite the depletion of nutritional value due to cooking to make oatmeal. Zefr (talk) 22:22, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
- Most would agree that eating whole grains lowers risk of colorectal cancer but I have not seen any specific health claims approved with oats and cancer only oat beta-glucan and cholesterol. I will look to see if there is any recent reviews but I am surprised there hasn't been much research on this in ten years. Carrot juice (talk) 14:25, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
