Proposed split

[edit]

10 miles of North Carolina Highway 42 will be renumbered as North Carolina Highway 36 according to this article. This means a separate article on the renumbering will may become necessary.

Draft article here.— Vchimpanzee  talk contributions 21:04, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I strongly oppose a split at this time until it is confirmed that NC 36 will be established. They are currently having public input on the topic and editors should never assume it is a done deal. --WashuOtaku (talk) 21:44, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
It sure looked like a done deal until I read it more carefully. We can revisit this when more is known. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me.— Vchimpanzee  talk contributions 23:09, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Having a draft ready is fine, sorry for being excited over it. I hope NCDOT does not do it either. --WashuOtaku (talk) 23:18, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hold up; do you not want NC 42 to be renumbered? Why? Also, my vote is wait. ChessEric 19:55, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
They are not renumbering all of NC 42, just ten miles of it so people on I-40 do not get confused with it and future I-42. --WashuOtaku (talk) 21:15, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

NC 36 question

[edit]

Should NC 36 be given its own article now, or should we just leave it as is in the article? If the latter is preferred, should we put both shields in the infobox? ChessEric 15:19, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
