Correct Name of Institution

[edit]

In the interest of accuracy, I added the correct, current name of the institution, National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts, though I liked the original name better. PlaysInPeoria (talk) 04:33, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notable member

[edit]

Hi, Frank Tenney Johnson was made a member in 1932. I was not sure if the requirements for notable membership is different than Wikipedia guidelines for notability re alumni so I did not add his name to the notable members section. One reference is:[1]. I found several references available online. Please let me now if he meets the requirement & I will add his name. Thank you--BuzyBody (talk) 21:25, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

He qualifies, I'll add him to the list. Beyond My Ken (talk) 21:35, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Founding Date

[edit]

There seems to be an inconsistency on the founding date. The article text describes it as 1828, whereas the infobox says 1863 which appears to be when they moved into a new building. The organization definitely existed prior to 1863. So what should the "founded" date in the infobox be? Dspark76 (talk) 19:30, 10 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

For example this reference indicates Régis François Gignoux was elected to the Academy of Design in 1851. Dspark76 (talk) 20:18, 10 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

since the website for the organization sites its founding sate as 1825, I will update the infobox with that year. Dspark76 (talk) 00:08, 11 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
