I'm sure this must have been discussed somewhere in the voluminous talk archives for Allama Iqbal (and I'm probably stepping on somebody's toes by doing this) but I restored "Sir" to his name in the lede because he was widely referred to by that title during his lifetime. It was an honor awarded him for his literary achievements and not in any way a political title.
Do we know if Allama Iqbal rejected this honor or repudiated it at some point in his career?

I am not qualified to write such a section, but, given the continually fraught situation of the political and social rights and status of women in the Subcontinent and in the Islamic world, we really should have a section on such an important thinker as Allama Iqbal on the rights of women, as encompassed in his philosophy and public policy.
From what I have read, he was quite progressive in his support for women's rights.
The child-bearing half of humanity needs some attention in this long and otherwise thorough article.

Not done Unfortunately, Iqbal died before Pakistan was formed therefore he cannot be a Pakistani poet. RegentsPark (comment) 15:22, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
